“Go with the Flow” In this wonderful article, appearing on the Discovery Channel’s “Planet Green” website, environmental writer Jasmin Malik Chua discusses “the impact of chucking hundreds of applicators, pads, and packaging every year.” Of course, Jasmin recommends disposable menstrual products, and says: “This writer is a happy Keeper user.”

One option that is often left out of such discussions (as well as media programs and articles) is reusable menstrual products.
Natural Life Magazine, #46 -- says about The Keeper: “Not only does it have a positive impact on the environment, but it will save hundreds of dollars spent on other commercial sanitary products.”
The Keeper was featured in Redbook Magazine, February, 1998, under "What’s New in Period Protection." It is called "the cheapest way to go."
The Keeper was featured in an article in the April, 1997, Self Magazine, under the heading, "Sales of Alternative Products Are Booming."
E Magazine, July-August, 1997. In this great article, "Toxic Shock! How Safe Are Feminine Hygiene Products?," Aisha Ikramuddin examines several alternative menstrual product options, including, of course, The Keeper.
E Magazine, Jennifer Bogo, March-April 2001 – This great article, "The Hidden Price of Feminine Hygiene Products," examines the possible environmental and health dangers associated with the use of disposable menstrual products, including dioxin exposure and Toxic Shock Syndrome.
The Simple Living Network's July-August, 2006 newsletter features the article, "Reusable Menstrual Products: Easy On The Pocketbook, Easy On The Environment," which contains a great deal of wonderful information about The Keeper!
Yes! Magazine's Spring 2006 issue features an article on "10 Most Hopeful Trends." First on their list is reusable menstrual products, including The Keeper.
Salon.com's very popular online site contains this wonderful article, aptly titled "Go With the Flow," which discusses The Keeper and features a photo of our product at the beginning of the article. A terrific story.
Youngwomenshealth.org, the website for the Center for Young Women's Health of the Children's Hospital of Boston, contains this really wonderful article, "Alternative Menstrual Products: A Guide for Teens" especially important because we at The Keeper, Inc. want young girls to know about the benefits of reusable menstrual products early on, before they start using disposable tampons and pads.
This article, "On the Rag (Literally): Menstrual Alternatives," featured at vegetarianteen.com, was written by 16-year-old Laura Schwartzmann. It's another "keeper"!

Glad Rags -- produces quality washable, long-lasting organic cotton menstrual pads. Also sells other environment-friendly products.
Organic Essentials -- makes organic cotton products (including tampons, cotton balls, cosmetic rounds) which are grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and defoliants, and are whitened with hydrogen peroxide, instead of chlorine bleach.

The Discovery Channel's Planet Green -- Planet Green is the first and only 24-hour eco-lifestyle television network with a robust online presence and community. Launched in June 2008, Planet Green’s on-air content reaches 50 million homes, offering more than 250 hours per week of original green lifestyle programming. Women and Environments, WE International Magazine -- A unique international magazine, based in Toronto, Canada, which examines women's multiple relations to their many environments -- natural, physical, built, and social -- from a feminist perspective
E/The Environmental Magazine -- the online edition of E Magazine, a clearinghouse for information, news and commentary on environmental issues. The publication aims to inform and inspire people who have concerns about the environment and who want to know what they can do to make a difference.
RACHEL's Environment and Health Weekly -- a weekly online newsletter published by the Environmental Research Foundation. Environment & Health Background Report is also available online. Includes all back issues and a search engine.
Sierra Magazine -- Published bimonthly by the Sierra Club. Covers topics relating to exploring, enjoying, and protecting the planet.
• Environmental Sites
The following three websites are the brainchildren of the indefatigable Graham Hill, an extremely committed and talented environmentalist, whose knowledge and media experience combine to make his websites forces to be reckoned with. Graham used to work with Simran Sethi who, like him, has devoted many years to the study and promotion of eco-friendliness. The following three websites attest to their commitment, passion and knowledge.
TREEHUGGER -- There are few things in this life that live up to their hype. Treehugger is one that does. One of the very best environmental web magazines around, Treehugger has 750,000 visitors per month, and is “dedicated to everything that has a modern aesthetic yet is environmentally responsible. Our goal is to make sustainability mainstream and to be the one-stop for the environment.” This site is a real treat.
TREEHUGGER TV -- Another brainchild of Graham Hill, Treehugger TV features videos about eco-friendly topics. Among them: “How to Throw an Eco-Party,” “How to Find Green Fish,” and “Green Your Shower.” A really creative idea.
HUGG.com -- Another great eco-friendly site, hugg.com is modeled after digg.com, but hugg.com contains only environment-friendly stories from various news sources. All of the stories are submitted by and voted on by site enthusiasts. Hugg.com doesn't yet have the traffic of digg.com, but again – stay tuned!
Since 1996, The Simple Living Network has been providing resources, tools, contacts and examples for conscious, simple, healthy and restorative living. It is a really extraordinary site, containing lots of great information on frugality, simplicity and environment-friendly living. Take a look at its article archives and its very active discussion forums. And be sure to check out the Simplicity Study Group section to see if there is a study group in your town!

Women’s Environmental Network -- a unique, vital and innovative British organization, which represents women, and campaigns on issues which link women, environment and health.
Coop America -- provides the economic strategies, organizing power and practical tools for businesses and individuals to address today's social and environmental problems; a leading force in educating and empowering people and businesses to make significant improvements through the economic system.
Chlorine Free Products Association -- a unique trade association representing companies dedicated to implementing advanced technologies, and/or, groups supporting products free of chlorine chemistry; membership is open to those in industries that are producing totally, or Processed Chlorine Free (TCF) products, or those interested in supporting the advancement of TCF technology.
